From Black Friday to Big Friday | Daraz has changed the landscape of Pakistan’s Digital Commerce

Salute to Daraz as they made upto  Rs.3 Billion bench mark sales in Pakistan. Its really a big achievement

Pakistan never had the concept of Thank Giving or Cyber Monday – and so no concept for Black Friday either. It was Daraz who aggresively brought in the concept of Black Friday sales in Pakistan with full swing and turn it into a success story

Not only Daraz but, other online marketplace, e-tailers and offline brands joint the bandwagon to encash the event with bumper sales. Whilst, the sales were further boost by banks and mobile payments with additional generous discounts that would compel the consumer to jump out of their house and shop online or at store.

It was amazing to see the various version spelled in Pakistan about Black Friday which includes Big Friday, Blessed Friday, White Friday, Reward Friday – Perhaps, there is big discount for consumer and reason to come out and spend.

This reflects Pakistan is head to the right direction in ecommerce and there are many good news to be heard in coming days and years. Those who would like to invest in Pakistan must rethink the economy is moving towards digitization and brands with brick and mortar and conventional product offering will be challenging,
